The modern way is doing away with paycheck stubs
The modern way of dealing with payroll is through the bank deposit system, doing away with paycheck stubs. This system is safer because companies with many workers no longer have to withdraw large amounts of money to bring to their cash departments for counting into individual pay checks.
Companies are required by law, however to provide employees with a written record of their pay by providing them with pay slips. Some companies still provide employees paycheck stubs, with the check attached in them stamped non-negotiable and issued just for recording purposes.
