Power of attorney gives authority to perform

The person giving power of attorney is the principal and he/she gives powers to the person known as agent in the document. The agent has authority to perform on behalf of the principal in the manner prescribed in the contents of the document.

The agent is never allowed to misuse the authority so given. If he/she does that then there can be serious consequences of that. He/she can be penalized under the criminal law if a criminal act is done in violation.
